Shaping the Future of Leadership Between Africa and France

Under the esteemed patronage of H.E. Emmanuel Macron, President of France, and H.E. Andry Rajoelina, President of Madagascar, the Africa-France Young Leaders Program stands as a prestigious platform for leadership excellence. Each year, this initiative selects 30 outstanding young professionals from Africa and France, fostering cross-continental collaboration, mentorship, and transformative opportunities.

Program Vision: Bridging Continents, Cultivating Leaders

The Young Leaders Program is committed to identifying, nurturing, and connecting high-impact leaders who are dedicated to strengthening Africa-France relations. The program aims to:

Discover and promote exceptional individuals with demonstrated leadership potential.
Foster sustainable ties between Africa, France, and the global community.
Provide mentorship, networking, and knowledge-sharing opportunities with influential figures.

Through immersive experiences, participants engage with key decision-makers, thought leaders, and changemakers, ensuring meaningful collaborations and a lasting impact.

Who Can Apply?

The program is highly competitive, attracting thousands of applications annually. In 2023, over 5,000 candidates from more than 40 countries applied. To be eligible, applicants must:

Be between 28 and 40 years old.
Be proficient in English (French is an asset).
Have a minimum of five years of professional experience, showcasing leadership and impact.
Demonstrate a commitment to strengthening ties between Africa and France.
Hold nationality in an African country or France.

Applications must be submitted via the French-African Foundation website before the deadline.

Selection Process

Candidates undergo a rigorous selection process led by an independent jury of esteemed African, French, and global figures. The selection criteria include leadership excellence, commitment to impact, and potential to drive change.

Since its inception, the Young Leaders Program has cultivated a vibrant network of high-achieving professionals, including:

182 alumni with an average age of 34 (as of 2024).
Over 50 African nationalities represented since 2017.
500+ speakers contributing to mentorship and training.
Presence across 40+ African countries, as well as France, the U.S., and the Middle East.

An Unparalleled Leadership Experience

Participants will embark on a transformative journey through two exclusive seminars:

June 2025 in France
November 2025 in Madagascar

During these sessions, Young Leaders will engage in:

High-level meetings with influential figures in politics, business, and civil society.
Leadership development workshops led by renowned experts.
Strategic discussions with key decision-makers from various sectors.

The program, hosted under the patronage of the French and African presidents, highlights its global significance and impact.
