Why Apply for the Einstein Fellowship?

This fellowship, funded by the Einstein Forum and the Wittenstein Foundation, is designed to support young scholars who are passionate about exploring new areas of research. It does not require IELTS or TOEFL, and there is no application fee. Fellows will have the chance to live in Einstein’s Garden Cottage, an inspiring location steeped in history and intellectual legacy.

Financial Benefits

Selected candidates will receive: 

  • €10,000 stipend to cover living expenses
  • Round-trip airfare to and from Germany
  • Free accommodation at Einstein’s Summer House
  • Family members are welcome, though their travel costs are not covered
Eligibility Criteria

To apply for the Einstein Fellowship, you must meet the following criteria: 

  • Open to applicants from all nationalities
  • Under 35 years old at the time of application
  • Hold a university degree in humanities, social sciences, or natural sciences
  • Your research proposal must be in a different field from your previous work (e.g., different from your master’s thesis or published papers)
Required Documents

Applicants must submit the following documents in English: 

  • Curriculum Vitae (CV)
  • Two-page research project proposal
  • Two letters of recommendation
Selection Process & Timeline
  • June 2025 – Application review and interview process begins
  • End of July 2025 – Final selection results announced
  • Summer 2026 – Fellowship begins (exact dates are flexible)
