Applications are now open for the GRO GEST Fellowship 2026 at the University of Iceland.
This fully funded five-month training program is designed for young professionals from low- and middle-income countries, focusing on gender equality and social justice. Upon completion, participants will receive a Postgraduate Diploma in Gender Equality Studies and Training (GEST).
The fellowship will take place from January 2026 to May 2026 in Reykjavík, Iceland, at the University of Iceland. Every year, 20-25 talented professionals are selected to participate. The program employs a multidisciplinary approach to promote gender equality and advance social justice globally.

Eligibility Criteria
To be eligible, applicants must:
- Be from a low- or middle-income country
- Hold a Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent)
- Be fluent in English (both spoken and written)
- Have at least two years of professional experience
- Preferably be under 35 years of age
- Demonstrate leadership potential and commitment to gender equality

Application Process
Follow these steps to apply:
- Obtain a nomination from your current workplace supervisor. The nomination must be submitted by March 8, 2025, via the GEST website.
- If nominated, you will receive an invitation to submit an individual application in mid-to-late March 2025.
- Shortlisted candidates will proceed to the final selection phase.
