How to Apply as a Skilled Worker

1. Secure a Job Offer

To qualify for permanent residence under these pilots, you must receive a qualifying job offer from a designated employer in one of the participating communities. You can apply from abroad or as a temporary resident already in Canada.

2. No Skilled Work Experience Required for Recent Graduates

If you recently graduated from a public post-secondary institution in a participating community, you may be eligible even if you don’t have prior skilled work experience.

3. Apply for Permanent Residence

Once you receive a job offer, you can submit your application for permanent residence through the pilot program.

4. Get a Work Permit While Waiting

While your permanent residence application is being processed, you may be eligible for a work permit if you:

Have a job offer from a designated employer
Receive a referral letter from your participating community
